Poseidon fury1/28/2024 ![]() There is certainly something for every one here, so don't be afraid to visit here if you have any picky eaters in your group. By the way, the menu is not of greek theme (despite the name). You can call Universal Studios guest services to make a reservation at this restaurant, so I recommend doing so (they don't require your credit card info either for the reservation). Pricing is very reasonable ($10 - $18 per person) and the atmosphere is second to none. Note, that they are only opened for a few hours each day (during lunch hours). Mythos Restaurant - Definitley worth having lunch here. Worth waiting in line for a reasonable amount of time for sure. Just make sure you get 3D glasses before riding, as the staff is not always on the ball, and may forget to hand them out. A good mix between 3D effects, and actual movement/props. Spiderman Ride - Still one of the top rides in Orlando. It is one of those things, you will probably try once (just because you HAVE to try it), and than will likely feel you overpaid for it. The "butter beer" this is sold in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is extremely popular (and pricey at almost $5 per 16oz cup). There are not any Universal branded items in these stores, only vintage Harry Potter items (which you may be able to find online for a better price). Unless you want to dress like Harry Potter (cloaks, scarves, etc) or want a very expensive wooden wand, you will not find anything of interest in the gift shops. ![]() My wife and I snuck into the gift shop through the back door (inadvertantly) and saw nothing of interest at all in the gift shop. The walkways are small, and gift shops are EXTREMELY small, and for that reason they only let so many in at a time, and you will have to wait in line In fact, during the busier times, you may have to wait in line just to get into the Harry Potter section all together. From what I can tell, they added this section of the park, but without any actual expansion of land just by re-utlizing a portion of the Lost Continent island (I could be wrong though). The Harry Potter section is very undersized, therefore very crowded. Lots of interesting decor (especially in Marvel Super Hero Island). A lot of the experience here has to do with the overall atmosphere. Is it necessarily a better park than Universal Studios Orlando ? I don't think so, but you certainly may. Also, I did not go on the Harry Potter ride, so this review does not include that particular attraction but focuses more on the rest of the park - Island's of Adventure is the newer, and more popular of the two Universal parks. This review is geared towards what adults likely will enjoy. But waiting for an hour or more, with nothing to keep your interest, for a rather hokey 15 minute show isn't really worth it. Walking through a swirling tunnel of water was the best part. Once inside an actress leads you through several rooms, where you experience some pyrotechnics and water that go along with an intercom voice, and a filmed clash between "Poseidon" and a challenger. As each group is let inside for the show, all the Express Pass people go in first, and then the other spots are filled in with the others waiting in the "cheap" $80 line. You stand in a line, in a tunnel, listening to a very repetitive piece of music. We were inside within 15 minutes, but then were waited for about that long at each of another 5-6 places inside. But, unless we were there first thing we would skip Poseidon's Fury. Lots of stunts left us wondering how they didn't get hurt, and the pyrotechnics and water were great. We also enjoyed the Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show a lot. We loved our early visits to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and survived the Dragon Challenge (believe the warnings about motion-fun but crazy).
